“Arise !”
Certain strange correspondences in the work of Saunière suggest that he had an interest in magic. Do the events of the bible, specifically the raising of Lazarus and the role of Mary Magdalene, play a role in this ?
January 17: the feast of Wagy
January 17 is the central date of mystery in the affaire of Rennes-le-Château. Though many have searched for understanding in Catholic associations with some saints, perhaps we need to look more towards Egyptian magic and its calendar to understand the true significance the date may have had.

After the removal of pope Benedict XIII from the papal office, Pedro de Luna did not "retire". Instead, he instigated a line of successors, alternative popes, whose survival seems to have continued into the 20th century. Was there a special bond between these popes and the secret of Perillos?
The Marian Era
The visions of the "Virgin Mary" at rue du Bac in Paris is the first of a series of apparitions that heralded in the "Marian Era". It is clear that Saunière was deeply interested in these events. Far better known are the apparitions at La Salette and Fatima, where the messages of the Virgin were deemed to be "secrets". Since then, most of the secrets have been revealed. In part 2, we begin to investigate the theft of the Just Judges and its potential links to Otto Rahn. In part 3, the role of the Nazis in this theft is further explored. In part 4, the Arma Christi and its protectors, the Ebionites, are identified as members of the penitential movement. In part 5, some of the people in the intelligence community implicated are identified. In the final part, we look at the finale of the book, which is set in Rennes-le-Château.
Bérenger Saunière. Spy?
Is it possible that Sauniere was a German spy? Is it possible that he was paid by royals to retrieve an artefact that was hidden in the crypt? As remarkable as this thesis might sound, there is a surprising amount of evidence available for it. And it also brings new understanding about the role Philippe de Cherisey played in the entire saga, as well as unknown elements that show that in the 1930s, the Spanish government made enquiries about what had transpired.
