The Priory of Sion
We begin with an overview of the "historical" Priory of Sion, and its activities that were largely confined to the year 1956. The Priory has a lot in common with an earlier of Plantard's organisation, the Alpha Galates. Is there any possible conclusion to be drawn from these organisations? Furthermore, could it be that Plantard's actions were part of a larger - CIA orchestrated - campaign?
Pierre Plantard: the Grand Monarch
What if the communications of the Priory of Sion were written so that they would match Nostradamus' prophecies? That is precisely the conclusion that Stephen Anderson comes to, suggesting that Pierre Plantard saw himself as "the Grand Monarch", who would rule France... if not Europe.
Les Dossiers Secrets
Between January 1964 and April 1967, several documents were deposited in the Bibliotheque Nationale in Paris, that have become the spine around which the mystery of the Priory of Sion... and Rennes-le-Chateau have evolved. In the first installation, we provide an overview of the various documents that were deposited, and try to provide an initial analysis. In the second part, we search for meaning as to which purpose this approach and series of documents could have served.
Manipulating the evidence, or when fiction is moulded into reality
Was De Sède an author who merely reported on the Priory of Sion, or was he himself a primary instigator of the myth... and did he manipulate the evidence to fit his goal?
The “Tomb of Christ” in the enigma of Rennes-le-Château
The theme of the Tomb of Christ has come ever more forward as the "true centre" of the mystery of Rennes-le-Chateau. But was this always the case and if not, how did it come about?
The origins of the Priory of Sion
Could
another society lie at the foundation of the Priory of Sion? In the first
part, we explore the life and work of Maurice Barrès' fascination
with the subject... and Sion. In the second part,
we look into the Hypnerotomachia Poliphili, an enigmatic book potentially
linked with the "Angelic Society". In the third
part, we look at Jean Cocteau and his angelic visitations. In the fourth
part, we focus on the role of Saunière and his usage of mirrors.
Cocteau and Barrès were not alone: George Sand and Anatole France
could also have been candidates for membership
in the Angelic Society.
What may it all mean? Gary Osborn goes in search
of what these people themselves wrote and wonders whether they believed
that at some point, the axis of the Earth was aligned differently.
Did Jesus have descendants?
Though the Priory of Sion never promoted the possibility that Jesus had descendants, after The Da Vinci Code, and beginning with Holy Blood, Holy Grail, the two have become intimately linked. The belief that Mary Magdalene had children seems new, but the Spanish author Gimenez shows that traces of this belief can be clearly seen in Northern Spain.
The Christ Commission
In the early 1980s, Og Mandino wrote "The Christ Commission", an exploration whether or not Jesus arose from the dead, or his body was stolen.
St Sulpice, headquarters of “Secret France”?
St Sulpice was, until the arrival of The Da Vinci Code, a little known though nevertheless important church. Is it possible that this church was the headquarters for The Angelic Society? In the second part, we explore the role and the mission of the Compagnie du Saint Sacrement, one of the most mysterious and powerful secret societies ever to have existed. In the third part, we look at the bizarre career of Vincent de Paul and specifically a mission - or abduction - into the Arab world.
The "Secret Files" Archive
The first file was deposited in January 1964, titled "Généalogie des rois mérovingiens et origine de diverses familles françaises et étrangères de souche mérovingienne", written by Henri Lobineau (a pseudonym).
The second file was deposited in August 1965: "Les descendants mérovingiens ou l’énigme du Razès Wisigoth", written by "Madeleine Blancasall" (another pseudonym).
The fifth document is the infamous Serpent Rouge, deposited in February 1967.
The sixth and final file was titled "Dossiers Secrets d'Henri Lobineau", deposited in April 1967.
AA Revue
The little known document known as the AA Revue is largely the work of Philippe de Cherisey. Though not part of the Dossiers Secrets, it is a document whose potential relevance if not importance to the story has so far been overlooked.
