Enigmas of Perillos

Perillos of the Brazen Bull

Apart from an abandoned village, there is a famous Greek mythical character, Perillos of Athens, who is known in the history books as the inventor of the "Brazen Bull".

Of Monsters and Men

In the 13th century, Perillos was linked with the exploits of a fabled monster roaming the area, known as the Babaos. Today, a popular festival in Rivesaltes remembers the extraordinary events that befell the town. Dominique Setzepfandt goes in search of the reality behind the legend. A look into the stellar imagery also gives certain clues to the background of the story.

Saint Peter of Perillos

The presence of a tradition related to Saint Peter in Perillos seems to be yet another anomaly of this abandoned village. But a quest for understanding reveals that it may have a "stellar" connotation, if not an "otherwordly" one.

Perillos and the enigma of the Grail accounts

The Grail legends, dating from the 12th-13th century, mention a "Perilous Chapel", as well as a cemetery. Was this the chapel of Perillos? Furthermore, is there a connection between the enigmatic model and the Grail, via Joseph of Arimathea?

The Chronodrome Experiment

Since 2000, Opoul-Perillos is the venue for an experiment in time: the Chronodrome. Together with the backing of the European Space Agency, Keo is a satellite that might invite visitors from the futur to visit the present.
We also look into the background of time travel, in general, as well as other anomalous events in and around Perillos.

A new time travel experiment

Members of the Société Perillos have started a time travel experiment of their own, one that is much wider in scope than any of the other experiments that have been conducted in the area of Opoul-Perillos so far.

Salvador Dali: painting the apocalypse of Perillos?

Salvador Dali: genius or madman? According to Erasmy, Dali was a visionary, and his main focus was on the region of Perillos, which featured in many of his hallucinations - including one which stated that it would be the site from which Europe would be transformed.

William Cooper & the mystery of Rennes-le-Château

Was William Cooper aware of a major secret, specifically involving the bones of "someone?

New electricity for an abandoned village

Though abandoned, French electricity has in recent years installed a transformer in Perillos, which is not serving anyone, but is constantly in operation. Furthermore, it is claimed that the exact nature of its purpose is "confidential".

Radar, radar on the mountain...

Rising high above Perillos' valley sits a radar station, which has been the centre of much controversy. With its recent poor track record, those rumours are only added to.

The crash of the Constellation. The catastrophe of January 11, 1963.

On January 11, 1963, a plane crashed on the grounds of Perillos. Forty years onwards, mystery continues to surround the precise circumstances of this crash. Specifically, when the newspapers at the time also reported about a UFO sighting and a space base from which to launch rockets.

No radar signal

In the early 1960s, plans were afoot to install a rocket base near Perillos, with provisions made for a radar in Perillos. Forty years later, Perillos got a radar station... Coincidence, or a long-term plan that continues to be developed?

The bizarre history of weather stations

For many years, there was an enigmatic "tube" just outside of Perillos. What was its use? If any...

SOS Meteors!

There are extraterrestrial visitors at Perillos! Indeed, several meteors have crash-landed in this region, and some scientists are beginning to formulate a theory that this might have something to do with why this area was deemed sacred by our distant ancestors.

“Le Triangle Secret”

The Secret Triangle is a French series of cartoon strips, that tackles the presence of the tomb of Jesus in France. Amazingly, there is a role reserved for the Perillos family... it seems.
