Towards
closure in the mystery of Perillos? “No.” |
Since
November 2005, the Société Perillos has worked with representatives
of the French Ministry of Culture, both at departmental and national level,
to prepare an expedition of occupation and opening of the two locations,
as indicated on the model. We can only now provide details of this endeavour.
The
government takes note
The
French Ministry of Culture had, until the spring of 2005, no great cause
to look into our notions of the mystery of Perillos. Indeed, people who
say they have found treasure or an answer to a mystery, especially when
it is linked with the mystery of Rennes-le-Château, have become an
every day occurrence. And that is without the total nutcases that land on
the same landing strip – some of which have crossed our paths…
So even if possible, it is not worthy of government time. The official radar
takes note, but the government can often do nothing with it, if only because
of the manner in which they are reported… and because by default people
like the Société Perillos is not made up solely of academically
employed archaeologists.
But in the spring of 2005, the Ministry, through a series of efforts of
the organisation, such as the existence of a French magazine, Les Carnets
Secrets, the Internet site(s) and other elements, “believed”
that our organisation was different and had indeed something to say that
was worth listening to – and offered material they could try to validate
– or invalidate. Therefore, they began to try and verify the verifiable
elements in our story. Soon afterwards, representatives from the Ministry
wanted to validate the evidence that was in our hands and not available
as part of the public domain. We thus approached the end of 2005 and our
research was validated as being “of interest”.
Preparations
In
an enterprise such as a discovery, there are always numerous parties involved.
Protocols exist, for several decades, based on hundreds of cases. The Ministry
therefore took the role of negotiator, so that each party could list its
conditions, demands and requests. The most important parties were the Société
Perillos (who was alone in knowing the whereabouts of the sites), the mayor
of Opoul-Perillos and the proprietor of the two sites.
We are now at the beginning of February 2006 and the situation in Opoul-Perillos
changes. The mayor, Jean-Francois Carrere, is suspended from office, for
reasons that remain unbelievable – and have not been proven. The vice-mayor,
for some reason, does not assume the full powers of the office given to
him; instead, Freddy Deschaux-Baume, member of the French Société
Perillos, author of a book in which he separates “Christ” from
“Jesus”, and councillor of the town becomes mayor “ad
interim”, until elections are held in April, which place Deschaux-Baume
in the position of the mayor. We thus envision that discussions can soon
recommence and we note that the number of interested parties has not changed.
On April 30, we hold a conference in Opoul, with as title “The Grail”,
opened by Deschaux-Baume. On May 1, the Société Perillos notes
that certain events are occurring in Perillos that are illegal and report
about this fact on the website, after having informed the local authorities
– who do not acknowledge us. It is the first visible sign that the
change in the town’s rule may have far reaching implications.
Negotiations
The
date of July 28 was advanced as the date for the “great debate”.
The Ministry of Culture had made it possible that the Mayor of Opoul-Perillos,
the owner, the Ministry of Culture itself, as well as two archaeologists
and a theologian (specialised in the Primitive Church) are present. The
organisation would be represented by André Douzet, Filip Coppens
and a lawyer. By this time, the demands of the organisation (three in total)
are known and accepted by the negotiator… and the other affected parties.
On Friday July 21, the negotiator requests confirmation from the mayor’s
office that the meeting will indeed occur at 15h00 on July 28 at the mayor’s
office. The mayor informs this negotiator that the meeting will not take
place. Stupefied by this abrupt change of behaviour by the mayor, the negotiator
tries several more times, even applying the power given to him by law to
change this stalemate. By July 26, it is clear that the mayor does not want
to have this meeting… Completely upset by the fact that a year’s
work is now wasted, the negotiator states that, indeed, “if they want
to play whatever it is they are playing in their town, that is their right.”
The end.
Result
We
note that the negotiator had the distinction to stipulate the conditions
of the parties and that all preparations were made: the parties were explicit
that this would involve an expedition of occupation, exploration and opening
of the two sites, which would have been totally within the remits of the
law (and within the powers and protection of the Ministry of Culture) and
taking due care of the conditions of the involved parties. The mystery of
Perillos would finally be revealed… But at the final moment, the mayoral
office blocked this endeavour in a manner that can only be described as
a political move: it does not want to sit at the table to talk. We can ask
several questions. The negotiator has posed these too. “Why?”
We do not know. Indeed, the mayor is the boss in his town and if he does
not want to, that is it. But we remain unclear whether this is a desire
from the mayor as an individual or whether it is a desire of his community.
The mayor or his office has so far not reacted, despite repeated attempts
by all parties involved. We remain available to hear his reactions and will
more than gladly represent them on this site.
Let us nevertheless add that the months of negotiations also meant that
our organisation had to behave in a certain manner. This is usual in diplomatic
enterprises. As such, certain things could not be said or made public, even
though some important and serious events occurred meanwhile. We will shortly
pick up from where we last left off, and report these.
Burning
ambition
God
seems to move in mysterious ways. Around 4am on Friday July 28, a fire was
reported in the Valley of Death, between Perillos and Opoul plateau. For
many people, this is believed to be the site where the two tombs are located
– and we must add that the organisation has used this as a bit of
a “trap” to direct those who pose too many questions about the
locations of the tombs into. It is well-known that a fire clears an area
from shrubs and other greenery that obscures the underlying rock…
which some people thus believed contained two interesting locations; the
two tombs.
The official version states that the fire was a lightning strike –
though no lightning or thunder was observed in the region that night. Equally
fortunate is the fact that the owner of the land was present at 4am, we
can only surmise making an early constitutional walk before dawn break.
All of this is, of course, an amazing coincidence, suggesting that coincidence
in Perillos works in mysterious ways.
A swift reaction from the fire services in the area meant however that not
a vast area was devastated by fire. So, coincidentally, in the night of
August 11 (fires in Perillos seem destined to occur in the nights of Thursday
on Friday), the same area caught fire again, as well as another valley,
namely that where four decades ago the Constellation crashed. This time,
there was definitely no thunder or lightning and the fire was so severe
that authorities apparently considered evacuating Opoul for a moment, as
the fire was feared to spread to one of the roads leading into Opoul. As
a consequence, dozens (one report reaching us even mentioned more than 100!)
fire engines attended to the scene. We can only surmise that in the next
few days, several “interested parties” are going to walk along
these valleys, probably not sticking to the paths and wondering whether
the rocks will reveal any clues… if they do, that would be an unforeseen
coincidence, in a manner not conform the way God works…
